The barn, where cows came to be milked in the 1920’s and 30’s is now the home to their artisan coffee roasting business, thus the name Big Barn!  Owner and operator, the Dan Sortwell, carefully sources green coffee beans from small, sustainable, coffee farms spanning from Africa, the Americas, and Asia. The then hand-roasts them to bring out the best flavor. Big Barn Coffee Co. coffees are all fair trade ensuring the coffee farms pay farmers a fair wage. The certified organic label ensures that growing practices embrace long-term care for the land. Roasted beans are packaged in recyclable glass containers, a departure from the wasteful bags typical of the industry.
