Restaurant Nora’s co-owner Nora Pouillon vision of organic and sustainable food began in the 1970s when she developed an extensive network of farmers, driving to Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania to purchase local produce and meats for her family and her cooking class/catering business. Restaurant Nora opened in 1979 and Nora continues to use these farmers to supply the restaurant with seasonal organic produce. In addition to sourcing locally, the restaurant is run on 100% wind energy, composts their food waste and uses eco-friendly cleaning products.
