44 North Coffee

About

44 North Coffee is a women-owned coffee roaster and coffee shop located on a small island, Deer Isle, off the coast of Maine. With a focus on ethical sourcing practices, the company is part of a collective that sources beans directly from the small farms that grow them. This ensures that profits stay with the farmers and in their local communities. The fair and direct trade collective membership also ensures that the 44 North founders have a direct line of communication with the farmers supplying their beans. To create a connection between their consumers and coffee growers, each bag of beans features the latitude number that indicates where the coffee farm is located in the world.  44 North expertly roasts their fair trade, organic coffee in-house in the historic Deer Isle schoolhouse.

Their cozy cafes offer welcoming places for friends and neighbors to come for a great cup of coffee.
